I think we all make assumptions about other people and always are judging them. I know, we always say that we don’t, but we always do. And I don’t think that we doing it being ‘’malice’’, but is a naturally trait that it is built in our personalities. I hear a lot of times ‘’I never judge, I always make suggestions or advise’’, but is not true we always judge. Even if we take the words out of the Bible ‘’Do not judge and you will not be judged’’ Joseph 7:1, it is in our nature to judge people around us. Look as an example the so called ‘’Stars’’, we always judging them, even if we don’t know them personally. We look on TV and magazines, we watch and read about them and we take all the positive or negative information and based on that we make our own image about that person. I don’t consider it to be right, but is something that unfortunately we can’t change.
It really is apart of our society today and it's sad. The stars we see on TV, the music artists who diss others in their lyrics. It's just sad and like you said, it's unfortunate that we can't go without judging someone, but now it's in our blood. We are obligated to say something the moment that person walks out of the room. There is no way around, whether your the one saying something or even if your laughing at someone else criticizing someone, your still at fault. No matter where you go, no matter what your thinking, you will be judging someone.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that it is predisposed in our human nature to judge people. That is why God has equipped us with the bible verse you quoted, to remind us of the consequences of our judging. He deliberately incorporated that verse into scripture because he knew of the challenge in that area for us, and that it would be an on-going struggle in an attempt to conquer it. We each have the free will to look beyond our initial impressions of people, and form a more realistic perception of them, by getting to know what their thoughts are, and where their heart is. It makes me sad that so many people form an opinion of someone that they do not really know. I really do believe that each of us has the ability to overcome the harshness of judging other people, if we make it a daily effort to do so.
